Farm To Table Dinner - New Event for 2024
Your are invited to attend our Farm to Table Dinner Thursday, Jan. 11th @ 5:30pm Cafe Belle Epoque 1411 Frederick Ave. St. Joseph, MO 64501 Tickets $50/person Meet Owner and Head Chef of Belle Epoque Cafe Diana Hartzler.
Diana learned to make chocolates while traveling the country. She lived the RV lifestyle with her husband and 80 Days co-owner, Travis. Together, they traveled, ate, cooked, and gained a love for culinary flavors and the art of making chocolate! When the pandemic occurred, Diana started making chocolates at home and started sending her creations to family and friends. She found it a great way to connect with her loved ones and share a little joy! Since moving to St. Joe last year, she quickly found success with her gourmet boozy chocolate truffles. Her truffles are exceptional not just because they are skillfully made, but they also contain alcohol, making them a delicious indulgence for grown-ups. However, Diana is also an incredibly talented chef, having worked in various professional kitchens and restaurants, honing her craft of French and Spanish cuisine. In October of 2023, Diana and her husband purchased the local gourmet eatery Cafe Belle Epoque in downtown St. Joseph. A location in historical downtown St. Joseph, Missouri
Walking into Café Belle Epoque takes you back in time. The copper tin ceiling, marble tabletops, hardwood floors, wood-burning stove and jazz music seem to transport you to a period of economic glamour in historic St. Joseph. In its European origin, “belle epoque” means a period from around 1871 to 1914 when many artistic and cultural innovations flourished, a.k.a., a time when a lot of creative and beautiful stuff was made. If the name fits, wear it – owner and chef Diana Hartzler will and does. This expertly renovated space, located at 1141 Frederick Avenue in the historic Ryan Block, is a treasured St. Joseph building. Diana is committed to using fresh, local ingredients and making every menu item from scratch, with an uncomplicated list of salads, sandwiches, entrees and of course chocolates and desserts. The daily din of customer conversations at Café Belle Epoque is tied to its elegant yet casual atmosphere, with cozy seating and plenty of clever touches. Farm to table helps to boost the local economy and support local farmers. Because farm to table restaurants deal directly with the farmer, you can be sure that the money spent is going directly to helping farmers grow their businesses and fuel the local economy. Both the restaurant and farmer benefit from farm to table.
The organizers of the Agritourism Workshop initially envisioned this dinner as the culmination of their workshop, but as word got out, everyone wanted the chance to enjoy it too. We have happily opened this event to all, but seats are limited, purchase your tickets today! |
